Kerala poised to be Blockchain tech hub

Kerala Blockchain Academy, first of its kind in India, is a joint initiative of the IIITM-K and the global Blockchain Education Network. As the first Indian institution to be granted membership by the Hyperledger project hosted by the Linux Foundation, the Kerala Blockchain Academy (KBA) is poised to open a world of opportunities for students, young professionals, budding entrepreneurs, local industry and governmental agencies in the State. Hyperledger is an open source collaborative effort created to advance cross-industry blockchain technologies. The Hyperledger community has grown to 231 organisations in more than 25 countries. A global collaboration of leaders in finance, banking, internet of things (IoT), supply chain, manufacturing and technology, Hyperledger aims to enable organisations to build robust, industry-specific applications, platforms and hardware systems to support their individual business transactions.

According to a pressnote issued here, the city-based KBA has become an associate member along with Cambridge Centre For Alternative Finance (University of Cambridge) in the Hyperledger ecosystem, which was launched in 2016 with a technical and organisational governance structure and 30 founding corporate members. A global collaboration of leaders in finance, banking, internet of things (IoT), supply chain, manufacturing and technology, Hyperledger aims to enable organisations to build robust, industry-specific applications, platforms and hardware systems to support their individual business transactions. The Hyperledger community has grown to 231 organisations in more than 25 countries.
