CM steps in after kin get wrong body from UAE

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Chief minister Pinarayi Vijayan 's office intervened after the family of a Wayanad native who had died in Abu Dhabi received the body of a Tamil Nadu native in a mix up.Nidhin O K (29), a native of Ambalavayal in Wayanad, was killed in an accident in Abu Dhabi 10 days ago. Abu Dhabi hospital sources informed Nidhin's family about the mix up while they were about to take it to freezer to a private hospital in Ambalavayal.They said Nidhin's body was still with them and that the Tamil Nadu native's body was mistakenly sent to Kerala.After learning about the matter, Nithin's relatives contacted the chief minister's office, who immediately intervened and contacted the relatives of the Ramanathapuram native, Norka-Roots officials, the Indian Embassy and top police officials of both the states.Norka Roots has volunteered to take the body of Tamil Nadu to his hometown in an ambulance, while the procedures for sending Nithin's body home are being completed.
