US issues advisory, asks its citizens not to visit Kerala

Kerala floods have been proving deadly with each day passing. Till now at least 26 people lost their lives in the state and several others are still missing or stuck in the floods.

Sensing the danger in the state, the United States on Friday issued an advisory to its citizens about the grim conditions of Kerala, asking them not to visit the state as it is hit by landslides and flash floods. “Avoid all areas throughout Kerala affected by landslides and flash floods,” the advisory read

Due to the worsening situation, all schools and colleges in Idukki, Kollam, Kothamangalam, Kunnathunad, Aluva, Paravur Taluk, and Kadamakkudy will remain shut on Friday.

Kerala state government is closely keeping a watch on the flood-hit areas, six flood rescue teams of the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) have also been deployed in affected areas.
