Thiruvananthapuram: The city traffic police announced traffic diversion in East Fort-Statue-Asan Square- Pattoor-Pettah-Chackai-All Saints-Sanghumukham road on Tuesday evening in view of procession for immersion of idols of Lord Ganesh as part of Ganeshotsavam.No parking will be allowed on left side of the road. Commuters to airport must plan in advance, said police in a press statement. Restrictions will be in force from 5pm till the procession concludes.The procession for Ganeshotsavam will begin with a cultural convention at Pazhavangadi at 4pm. The procession will pass through East Fort-Overbridge-Ayurveda College-Statue-Palayam-AKG Centre-General Hospital-Pattoor-Pettah-Chackai-All Saints route to reach Sanghumukham for the idol immersion.Vehicles bringing devotees will have to follow the routes prescribed by the police. Vehicles coming from Neyyatinkara and Parassala side must take Karamana-Killipalam-Attakulangara route, those from Kovalam and Vizhinjam must take Thiruvallam-Ambalathara-Attakulangara route and from Nedumangad must take Vellayambalam-Vazhutacaud-Thycaud flyover-Choorakkattu Palyam-Powerhouse Road-Thakarapparambu flyover-Vazhappally-Fort route. Vehicles coming from Attingal side must take Kazhakoottam-Chackai-Bypass road-Enchakkal-Vazhapally-Fort route.Vehicles from Kattakkada must take Poojappura-Karamana-Killippalam-Attakulangara route. Vehicles from MC Road must take PMG-LMS-Vazhutacaud-Thycaud flyover-Choorakkattu Palyam-Power House Road-Thakarapparambu flyover-Vazhappally-Fort route to reach Pazhavangadi.
