Fr Adeodatus is now Servant of God

Thiruvananthapuram: Neyyatinkara Bishop Vincent Samuel declared the elevation of Carmelite missionary Fr Adeodatus as Servant of God . This is the first step towards beatification of Fr Adeodatus.The official communication from Pope Francis was read out by parish chancellor Jose Raphael. A brief biography of Fr Adeodatus was read out by the bishop.D Selvarajan, co-ordinator of Neyyatinkara region, took oath as episcopal delegate while Raphael took oath as notary and F. Zacharias Kariyilakulam as vice-postulator. The declaration function was held at Bishop House, Neyyatinkara on Saturday. A picture of Fr Adeodatus was unveiled by the bishop.Msgr G Christudas, vicar general, Msgr V P Jose Muthiyavila, co-ordinator of ministries, Fr Valsalan Jose, priests of Carmel Hill, Pangode and priests of Neyyatinkara diocese took part in the function.
