Four-year-old girl mowed down by speeding car

Attingal: A four-year-old girl was crushed to death by a speeding car on Monday morning. Sajith who was driving the car was returning after attending a funeral at Attingal with his mother.“The witnesses said the child accidentally fell in front of the car. “After the autopsy held at Chirayinkeezhu Taluk Hospital the body was handed over to her relatives by Monday afternoon”, said an officer of Attingal police station.The police had registered a case under section 304 A against the driver. Since it was a slope, Sajith lost control over the speed when the kid came in front of the car,” said Mohanan S Kaippattimukku, a member of Muddakkal Panchayat.Shivanya was the younger daughter of Shibu and Shalini. The couple has an elder daughter.

The deceased has been identified as Shivanya S daughter of Shibu, of Peringottukonam near Elamba and Shalini.According to witnesses, the accident took place just outside the victim’s house, where she was waiting with a couple of other children for the auto rickshaw, which used to take them to the nursery. Parents of the kids were also there to see them off.“Shivanya was playing with her friends and had jumped off to the road when she was hit by a speeding car which was driven by their neighbour Sajith”, said an official.The girl who sustained injuries on her face, neck and head was immediately taken to the taluk hospital at Valiyakunnu where she was declared dead. “After the autopsy held at Chirayinkeezhu Taluk Hospital the body was handed over to her relatives by Monday afternoon”, said an officer of Attingal police station.The police had registered a case under section 304 A against the driver.
