THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The higher education department would organize a professional students’ summit on Cusat campus in Kochi on February 10.Chief minister Pinarayi Vijayan would inaugurate the summit aimed at providing a sense of academic as well as entrepreneurial orientation to students pursuing professional courses in the state.Higher education minister K T Jaleel said on Wednesday that around 2,000 students with academic brilliance would participate in the summit in which leading professionals from various sectors would be interacting with them. “Theories taught in classrooms and their application in the world outside are much different. The summit is an attempt to help students to have a glimpse of the opportunities and entrepreneurship outside the campus. Those who participate in the summit would be sharing their experience with other students in their institution,” the minister said.According to Jaleel, the government has decided to introduce ‘adjunct faculty’ provision in all higher education institutions so that students would get a chance to interact with deft practitioners in various fields, including literature and technology. “The need for providing training to teachers in higher education institution demands urgent intervention.
