He succumbed to his injuries on February 2.Soon after the incident Abdulla was on the run. Abdulla pounced on them thinking that they could be the thieves and beat them up. Ayiroor sub-inspector D Sajeev, who led the team that tracked down and apprehended the accused, said that Abdulla was working as a cook in a hotel in Thiruppuramkunram when he was caught.

T’puram: Three weeks after a 24-year-old dalit youth , Ananthu, died of injuries he suffered in an attack, the police have arrested the accused in the case Mohammed Abdulla (43) of Maanthara near Edava.The police said that Abdulla was taken into custody from Thiruppuramkunram in Madurai district in Tamil Nadu on Thursday night.It was on the night of January 29, Abdulla beat up Ananthu Mohan. Abdulla, a fish vendor, suspected that someone was frequently stealing petrol from his motorcycle parked outside the house.
