Ramesh’s son cancels reception to fund marriage of Kripesh’s sister

We decided to save money by cancelling our wedding receptions and use it to fund Kripesh’s younger sister’s marriage. While the elder sister was married recently, the younger sister is a first-year higher secondary student.“When I heard about their situation, I first spoke to my wife Sreeja and then to her parents. Kripesh used to live in a hut with his father, mother and two sisters. “No human being can think of celebrations at such a time. “It is improper to conduct the receptions when the entire state mourns the death of the two youths,” Chennithala said.The decision was taken by the newly-wed couple and conveyed to both families.

Thiruvananthapuram: Opposition leader Ramesh Chennithala’s son and his daughter-in-law have cancelled their wedding reception in view of the Kasaragod murders and the money saved will be used to fund the marriage of the sister of one of the slain youths.The couple, who got married in Kochi on Sunday, had planned to host a reception in Thiruvananthapuram on Thursday and in Haripad on Saturday. “It is improper to conduct the receptions when the entire state mourns the death of the two youths,” Chennithala said.The decision was taken by the newly-wed couple and conveyed to both families. “No human being can think of celebrations at such a time. When the whole state is mourning the killing of the two youths, we thought it will not be proper on our part to celebrate,” said Chennithala’s son Dr Rohit, who has completed MD in Radiology from the Amrutha Institute of Medical Sciences.Rohit said the condition of Kripesh’s home moved them beyond words.
