Missing man found dead in well

Thiruvananthapuram: A man was found dead in a well on residential premises behind Government UP School, Poovachal, on Wednesday evening. Once the body was recovered, we identified it with the help of the photograph submitted in the case. His relatives had filed a complaint with Kattakada police, who had registered a man missing case.“He has been suffering from mental ailments and his relatives had filed a missing case at the station. The body has been identified as that of Seenath (48), a native of Pullottukavu, Kuttichal.Kattakada police team, who arrived on the scene after being alerted by residents, recovered the body with the help of fire force.The man had been missing since Monday. The cause of death is unknown but we suspect that he has committed suicide,” police said.Seenath’s body was handed over to relatives after postmortem on Thursday.Drowning was identified as cause of death in the initial observation, said sources.Police will decide on further course of inquiry after receiving the post-mortem report.
