Udaipur girl calls off marriage after groom demands cash, car

UDAIPUR: An Udaipur girl called off her wedding when her groom-to-be demanded cash and a car as dowry on her wedding day. She went to the police station to give a written complaint and fearing legal action, the groom's party allegedly apologised to the girl and her family. He demanded Rs 10 lakh cash and a car as dowry, family sources said.IshitaIshita claimed that she had given Rs 3 lakh already but Amit kept pressurizing her. Surprisingly, Ishita told her family that she didn’t want to marry as Amit was pressing her for fulfilling dowry demands. Ishita and her family members went to the Surajpole police station where after hearing her, the groom's party was summoned.
