Commisioner task force of Vijayawada intercept truck and seize 800 kgs of ganja

A case has been filed under NDPS Act and the two accused have been booked and were also later produced before a session of court in order to make a judgment regarding their judicial remand.

When the police department of the city of Vijayawada received a tip-off about a truck that was transporting a shipment of ganja produce, the commissioner`s task force (CTF) produce at Ramavarapaddu junction in the city. AS per the reports by CTF sleuths, the truck served the purpose of procuring 800 kilos of ganja from the Visakhapatnam Agency area.

The plan started when a full team of police officers which was led by an additional deputy commissioner of police (ADCP), Srinivasa Rao stopped the truck bearing a Tamil Nadu registration and discovered the ganja which was hidden behind the maize powder sacks. Officials have estimated that the ganja which they have produced is around Rs 80 lakh, (according to the ongoing grey market price). Moreover, two arrests were also made on the crime scene- Bhagavath Sekhar (aged 27) and Prabhukaram Lakshman (aged 29) - both of the men belonged to a village located near Coimbatore in the state of Tamil Nadu. 

As per the statements given by the police to media persons, the job of the accused men was to transport the produce from a supplier in Visakhapatnam rural to Coimbatore. The duo of arrested criminals was also made to sit through an interrogation in which they revealed that the entire shipment was to be handed over to a major kingpin, Kumar.

Finally, a case has been filed under NDPS Act and the two accused have been booked and were also later produced before a session of court in order to make a judgment regarding their judicial remand. Currently, the investigation is underway and police are continuing its search for Kumar.
