Degree college students demand state-level university in Aligarh; threaten not to vote for BJP if demand not fulfilled

AGRA: Thousands of degree college students protested at the collector's office in Aligarh on Wednesday demanding setting up of a state level university. They threatened that if their demand is not met this year, then the students in Aligarh will not vote for the BJP in 2019 Lok Sabha polls. "If the government doesn't accept our demand, the students will not vote for his party," he said. "We have been struggling for past many years and if the government cannot fulfil our demand then all Aligarh degree colleges should be affiliated with Aligarh Muslim University ," said Amit Goswami , a student leader in DS College. Saurabh Chaudhary another student said, "We all have to face problems as our colleges are affiliated with Agra University, which has neither declares out results on time nor commence the sessions on schedule".

He added that their protest will continue till the government takes a decision on it.Another student leader Ranjeet Chaudhary said that yogi government should understand the problems of Hindu students. "If the government doesn't accept our demand, the students will not vote for his party," he said. Saurabh Chaudhary another student said, "We all have to face problems as our colleges are affiliated with Agra University, which has neither declares out results on time nor commence the sessions on schedule". He said according to UGC norms, not more than 110 colleges can be affiliated with one university but 998 colleges are affiliated with Agra University and that is the reason for the delay and other issues.The Students submitted a memorandum to UP CM, Yogi Adityanath , through local administration, demanding a state university in Aligarh.
