Constable dies, 15 others faint during police recruitment physical tests in Aligarh

The UP Police Promotion and Recruitment Board has started recruitment for 5000 vacancies of Sub Inspectors. He hailed from Baghpat district, said police.Another fifteen participants reportedly fainted during the physical tests for the recruitment examination. Fifteen others participants at the physical test also fainted during the day, apparently due to heat and humid conditions. AGRA: A UP police constable died on Sunday, after qualifying the 4.8 kms race during the physical examination for Sub Inspector (SI) recruitment at the ground of the 38 battalion of PAC in Aligarh. Constable Ankur Ahlawat (29), who was posted at Meerut PAC 6 Battalion, had appeared for the examination and completed the race in 26.28 minutes, almost 1:32 min before the qualifying time.

Constable Ankur Ahlawat (29), who was posted at Meerut PAC 6 Battalion, had appeared for the examination and completed the race in 26.28 minutes, almost 1:32 min before the qualifying time. After completing the race, he laid down in a tent and suddenly started frothing at the mouth and collapsed.He was immediately rushed to Pt Deendayal Upadhyaya Joint hospital , from where he was referred to a private hospital, as his condition started deteriorating. However, he was declared dead during the treatment there. He hailed from Baghpat district, said police.Another fifteen participants reportedly fainted during the physical tests for the recruitment examination. They were admitted to a local hospital and were kept under observation.Talking to TOI, superintendent of police (crime) Ashutosh Dwivedi , who is also the nodal officer of the ongoing recruitment in Aligarh, said that the family of the constable has been informed and his body has been sent for post-mortem.He also admitted that due to the hot weather conditions about 5-6 participants faint every day, as they have physical issues. On Saturday, over 600 participants were present for the physical test, which was scheduled in four shifts including three in the morning.The Three days of physical examination was initially scheduled from July 1 but due to rains, it was postponed to Wednesday and today was the last day. The UP Police Promotion and Recruitment Board has started recruitment for 5000 vacancies of Sub Inspectors.
