Two Delhi residents dead in accident on Yamuna Expressway

The two men were found dead near milestone 127 under Baldeo police jurisdiction of Mathura district.According to police, the accident occurred around 4:30 am. In the second accident, one person was killed and six were injured.A recent RTI reply by Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA) claimed that speeding was a major contributor to accidents on the expressway. Another accident occurred at around 4:20 pm on the expressway between milestones 115 and 116 under Mahavan police jurisdiction. Ashish was working in a private firm.”On July 4, a family from Delhi’s Sonia Vihar area, heading towards Agra, met with an accident on the Yamuna expressway near milestone 146 under Baldeo police jurisdiction in Mathura district. Out of 4,956 accidents between August 16, 2012 and March 31, 2018, a total of 1,161 accidents were caused by speeding.

Agra: On Monday morning, two residents of Delhi who were heading to Agra on a motorcycle were killed in an accident on the Yamuna Expressway.The victims were identified as Mukesh Kumar (32) and Ashish Kumar (34), from Govindpuri and Prahladpur areas of the national capital. The two men were found dead near milestone 127 under Baldeo police jurisdiction of Mathura district.According to police, the accident occurred around 4:30 am. “The two were crushed to death and their identities could only be established by the ID cards found in their pockets,” said station house officer of Baldeo, Sooraj Prakash Sharma.Dinesh Pruthi, uncle of Ashish Kumar said, “The two were heading to Agra when they were run over by an unidentified vehicle. The first accident was reported at around 1:30 am, when an SUV carrying five women, five children and a man turned turtle after hitting the divider near milestone 83 under Surir police jurisdiction. Another accident occurred at around 4:20 pm on the expressway between milestones 115 and 116 under Mahavan police jurisdiction.
