AMU issues notice to student for misbehaving with journalist

Kidwai also advised Jasim to leave campus, as the situation was not favourable.Talking to TOI, Jasim said that it was an unfortunate incident. He was talking to some other journalist at the PRO’s office, when some students including Ansari, came there and asked him to leave the office immediately.Jasim told media persons that he was trying to explain the reason for his presence but Ansari started misbehaving with him. He said Ansari branded him an RSS and Modi’s man and warned that such people would not be allowed to enter the campus.Prof Kidwai intervened in the matter and told students that only the vice chancellor was authorised to decide the entry/ban of anyone in the campus.

AGRA: The Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) authorities have issued a show cause notice to former students’ union vice president, Nadeem Ansari , on Tuesday for allegedly misbehaving with a senior journalist, Dr Jasim Mohammad , who was earlier the media advisor of the university, inside the campus.Confirming the move, proctor of the university, Mohsin Khan said that a notice had been issued to Nadeem Ansari, a student of PG diploma in Human Resource Management (HRM), and he had been given 48 hours to respond.On Monday, Jasim, who is the bureau chief of a national daily, went to meet Prof Shafey Kidwai, spokesperson of the AMU, to discuss the issue of Dalit reservation. He was talking to some other journalist at the PRO’s office, when some students including Ansari, came there and asked him to leave the office immediately.Jasim told media persons that he was trying to explain the reason for his presence but Ansari started misbehaving with him. He said that students came with arms and CCTV footage of the administrative block could be checked to verify his claims.He said that he had also sent his complaint to SSP office for taking action against the student.He said, “I am a follower of Modi but this is my personal choice and no one should have any objection to it”. He said that such kind of behaviour was not expected from the students of a central university.
