Jaipur resident killed in accident on AgraLucknow expressway

Agra: A Jaipur-based man was killed and two others were injured in a road accident on Agra-Lucknow expressway in the early hours of Thursday.The deceased was identified as Devendar Singh, 55, a resident of Adarshnagar area in Jaipur. The buffalo too died in the accident.”“The victims were heading towards Shikohabad to meet their relatives when the accident took place. While Devendar, who was driving the car, died, his father and mother-in-law sustained injuries.Officials said that the accident took place around 1.30 am near milestone number 27. Devendar died on spot, while the injured were admitted to SN Medical College. He was traveling with his in-laws in a car when the vehicle accidently hit a buffalo which was crossing the expressway.

While Devendar, who was driving the car, died, his father and mother-in-law sustained injuries.Officials said that the accident took place around 1.30 am near milestone number 27. The area comes under Fatehabad police jurisdiction.Speaking to TOI, the investigating officer of the case, inspector Pushpendar Pal Singh, said, “Our rescue team recovered the injured from the mangled hatchback. Devendar died on spot, while the injured were admitted to SN Medical College. The buffalo too died in the accident.”“The victims were heading towards Shikohabad to meet their relatives when the accident took place. We have informed their family,” Singh added.In last 42 days, 22 people, including an army lieutenant and members of UPEIDA expressway patrolling team, have been killed and over 30 have sustained injuries on the expressway.A recent RTI reply revealed that from August 1, 2017 to March 31, 2018, 853 accidents were reported from the expressway in which 100 people died.
