AMU to hold event discussing cardiac arrests

Agra: Doctors, scientists, academicians and scholars from various parts of India and the world will attend an event in AMU , which will discuss the role of automatic devices in improving survival chances of sudden cardiac arrest victims and overcoming problems associated with manual chest compressions, on July 21.The International Continuing Medical Education (CME) programme on “The Role of Automated CPR in Improving Outcome of Cardiac Arrest Victim” will be organized by department of Anaesthesiology and Critical Care, Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College (JNMC).The guest speaker, Dr Paul Rees, honorary reader from the Dundee Heart Centre, UK, will deliberate on “Challenges to High Quality CPR” and “AutoPulse, an Expert's Opinion” during the programme.Professor Syed Moied Ahmed, chairperson of the Department of Anesthesiology and Critical Care, JNMC and Dr Rakesh Garg, AIIMS, New Delhi, will speak on “Indian Guidelines in CPR: Need of the Hour”.The programme will conclude with a question-and-answer session, followed by a workshop for participants.
