AGRA: A video clip of a 28-year-old woman, whose body was found hanging in her house on Saturday in Achnera police jurisdiction of Agra district , has surfaced on social media.In the 41 second video, the woman identified as Neerja , who originally hailed from Barari of Mathura district , appeared depressed and declared no one responsible for her death.Married to Dharmendar of Hasela village in Achnera for over a year, the victim was found hanging in her room from ceiling of the roof on Saturday.However, based on her father’s written complaint, the local police booked her husband and in-laws for dowry death and abetment of suicide.Speaking to TOI, Namrita Srivastava, circle officer of Achnera said, “We are yet to recover the mobile phone from which Neerja’s video was shot prior to her death. The video was circulated by her husband to local residents and we have also received a copy of it. Since the victim did not own a smartphone, we don’t know whether she herself shot the video or was forced to do it. Further, it’s also not clear whether the video was shot minutes before her death or several days back.”“Once the investigation clears the sequence of events, then only we will start arresting the named accused,” added the CO.In another alleged suicide, a 45-year-old man was found hanging from a tree at Godau village here of Linepar police jurisdiction in Firozabad district.Identified as Dhananjay Singh, resident of Vikrampur, Bah police jurisdiction of Agra, the deceased was living with his wife Rekha and 10-year-old son Raunak at his in-laws' home in Firozabad.According to station house officer of Linepar, Geeta Singh, “The victim’s body was found hanging from a tree near a pond. Dhananjay was missing since Sunday evening. During interrogation of family members, we found that victim was in depression over job. Though cause of suicide is yet to be ascertained.”
