Agra: 6 held for trying to burgle cricketer Deepak Chahar's house

The six men are history-sheeters and were wanted in criminal cases of trespassing and theft.According to the police, on October 11, the accused had tried to enter the house of the cricketer, while his mother Pushpa was alone at home. AGRA: Shahganj police arrested six men who allegedly tried to break into cricketer Deepak Chahar 's house in Mansarovar colony in Agra city.The accused have been identified as Rupkishore, Rajkumar, Vijay Kushwaha, Dasrath, Deendayal and Rakesh, who were booked under IPC section 412 (Dishonestly receiving property stolen in the commission of a dacoity) and 25 arms act. The burglars had snapped the CCTV wire, but were caught off guard after Pushpa raised an alarm, forcing the burglars to flee.Speaking to TOI, Shahganj SHO Prem Niwas Sharma said, “The gang had conducted a recce prior to executing the burglary attempt. The gang was activly involved in at least nine break-in and theft cases reported in Jagdispura police jurisdiction.”Sharma added, “Though no formal complaint was lodged from Chahar’s family, but taking cognizance of the matter, a team was formed to bust the gang.”Police also recovered two country-made pistols, three cartridges, other stolen items including an auto-rickshaw, one projector, two printers, four CPU, five monitor, three gas cylinder, one pressure cooker, one mixer-grinder, one music system, one micro oven, four blankets, five gold chain, 11 gold rings and other gold and silver jewellery from the gang members.
