B.Ed scam: SIT seeks service books of 5 Agra varsity staffers

Agra: Allahabad High Court-monitored special investigation team ( SIT ) probing the B.Ed scam at Dr Bhimrao Ambedkar University has sought the service books of five employees. Now, SIT has demanded the service books of these employees to check their role in issuing fake B.Ed marksheets. The BA and B.Com certificates of these candidates are fake.In the matter, SIT had found involvement of five employees — Rajesh Sharma, Swami Saran, Ram Jindal, Bablu Bhatnagar and Anil Srivastava — in the fake B.Ed scam. SIT has also sought details of internal action taken against them in an old matter of suspicious academic certificates of the university.”According to an internal source, the service books of the five employees have gone missing. While Rajesh Sharma was sent to jail, four others got bail.Meanwhile, university administration did not take any action against any of the five employees.A senior university official said, “SIT has demanded original service books of five accused employees.

These employees allegedly added names of fake candidates in the original records of the varsity.Earlier, the criminal investigation department had found these employees guilty in the matter and had taken them to court. But varsity administration took no action against them. Now, SIT has demanded the service books of these employees to check their role in issuing fake B.Ed marksheets. SIT is also looking into the role of former university vice-chancellor and registrar in taking no action against these employees.According to sources, following a detailed investigation, CID had earlier found that names and academic details of 77 fake candidates were added in the original records of the university showing them as students of Raja Balwant Singh College in Agra. The college administration had told CID that these 77 candidates were not on their rolls. The BA and B.Com certificates of these candidates are fake.In the matter, SIT had found involvement of five employees — Rajesh Sharma, Swami Saran, Ram Jindal, Bablu Bhatnagar and Anil Srivastava — in the fake B.Ed scam. The employees were named in the chargesheet. While Rajesh Sharma was sent to jail, four others got bail.Meanwhile, university administration did not take any action against any of the five employees.A senior university official said, “SIT has demanded original service books of five accused employees. SIT has also sought details of internal action taken against them in an old matter of suspicious academic certificates of the university.”According to an internal source, the service books of the five employees have gone missing. As a result, some senior officials and employees fear that their involvement in the matter may be exposed.
