Teachers hold ‘budhi-sudhi yagya’ for resumption of pension scheme

Ministers, MPs and MLAs get pension benefits for whole life.

Protestors in large numbers gathered under the banner of United Teachers Association (UTA) and organized yagya outside at the office of the Basic Shiksha Adhikari (BSA).State president of the UTA, Rajendra Singh Rathore, said, “For welfare of teachers and state employees, UP government without any further delay should order implementation of the old pension scheme. Otherwise we will be bound to come on roads to protest. We have been receiving false assurances in this regard since a long time but policy makers seem to be not interested.”UTA state secretary Yadvendra Singh said, “Pension is our right. We will do everything possible to get it. Ministers, MPs and MLAs get pension benefits for whole life.
