ALIGARH: Six motor-bike borne armed assailants shot dead Aligarh BJP unit leader's teenage son outside his home on On Monday night. Identified as Naman Pandit (15), son of Vijay Pandit, who is BJP’s general secretary of Tappal zone, the victim was shot three bullets from close range just a couple of meters away from his home while he was returning from the wedding ceremony of BJP’s state affairs committee member Sher Singh’s nephew.The incident took place at around 10 pm in Pach Bisa colony of Jattari area under Tappal police jurisdiction. After Naman’s death, local residents blocked the Yamuna Expressway for more than an hour. It was only after police intervention and assurance to nab the accused that the blockade was removed.Speaking to TOI, Sanjay Pandey, station house officer of Tappal said, “In the wedding ceremony Naman had a heated argument with some boys of his age while they were dancing. The matter was doused off after intervention of some elders present there. However, when Naman was returning home on a motorbike, he was waylaid by six motorbike-borne armed youths and they shot him dead.”“We have detained a few suspects and are questioning them over their alleged involvement in the murder,” added SHO Pandey.On Tuesday Naman’s body was handed over to his family after post-mortem examination. Naman was a student of class XII and a young member of RSS.Tension continued to prevail in Pach Bisa Colony of Jattari area here on Tuesday.
