Agra: The online system developed by the Agra University to provide degree certificate to students in a time-bound manner has failed to serve the purpose. Degrees are shown dispatched in the online tracking system but are not getting delivered at applicants’ home. The situation has caused a lot of confusion among students.A student, Rishab Verma, said, “I applied for a degree certificate three months back. The application passed through different stages and the website showed that the degree has been dispatched on October 15. I have not received the degree yet. University officials have no proper response to the problem. I don’t know what to do.”The university administration earlier this year started an online system for issuing degree certificates to the students. Officials claimed that under the new system, applicants will get degree delivered at home within 30 days.Himashi Verma made an online application for a degree certificate. She got “19786’ as tracking number for her application. Her degree was shown delivered on October 4. But she didn’t get it even after a month’s delay. “I am fed up of making rounds to the varsity offices and requesting for my degree certificate. No one is providing any proper solution”, she said in frustration.Rishab and Himashi are just two students out of hundreds suffering for their degree certificates.University public relation officer GS Sharma said, “Complaints related to delay in dispatch of degree certificates have surfaced. University administration is working to ensure that online applications are addressed in time bound manner.”
