Agra: Agra was rocked by two murders, including that of a property dealer in city limits and another man in rural areas, on Saturday.In the city, a man identified as Bablu Yadav (22) was shot dead near Holy Public School at service lane of NH-2 by four armed motor-bike borne assailants. The incident took place at around 4:30pm under Sikandra police jurisdiction. The victim, a resident of Kakraitha area, was a property dealer. After the gruesome murder , the assailants fled towards Maharishipuram.The incident triggered anger among local residents, who blocked the NH-2, after which senior police officials rushed to the spot to control the situation. Later in the evening, Bablu’s body was sent for post-mortem and the national highway was cleared for traffic.Bahadur Singh, station house officer of Sikandra, said, “A police team is collecting the CCTV footage and enquiring eye witnesses. The victim’s call records are also being checked to ascertain the identities of the assailants.”By the time this report was filed, police was yet to file an FIR in the matter.Meanwhile, in another gruesome murder, a man committed suicide after he axed down his brother-in-law.Identified as Ganga Sharan, the accused’s body was found in the village well. According to police, “Ganga committed suicide after axing down his brother-in-law Shivdayal (33). The accused was enraged over Shivdayal’s interference in his married life.”Resident of Dhaniyapura, Bah police jurisdiction, Shivdayal was axed in front of scores of local residents.After the incident, both bodies were sent for post-mortem.Ajay Kishore, station house officer of Bah said, “Our team was searching for Ganga Sharan, when we were informed about his body in the well. A written complaint was given against him for Shivdayal’s murder.”
