Seven killed in road accident on Yamuna Expressway

AGRA: Seven, including two women, were killed, after an ambulance suffered a head-on collision with a car on the Yamuna Expressway . Tired of long journey, we all were sleeping in the ambulance when accident occurred.”Suraj Prakash Sharma, station house officer of Baldeo, said, "In the accident, total seven persons were killed, while six were injured. On Tuesday morning at around 7 am, our ambulance collided with another vehicle, killing six members of my family. The driver of hatch-back identified as Sonu Vishwas who originally hails from Nai Basti of Firozabad district was critically injured. Bodies were sent for post-mortem, while injured were admitted in hospital.”

Six victims were from one family.The accident occurred at around 7 AM near milestone 138 of Baldeo police jurisdiction of Mathura district.According to police, eight members of a family were returning to their native village Aurangabad in Bihar along with deceased relative’s body in the hired ambulance when the road mishap occurred.The accident took place when the ambulance lost control, hit a divider and tumbled onto the other side of the road, smashing into another vehicle, in which a Delhi-based family was returning back to home after attending a wedding in Firozabad. At least four occupants in the car were injured.The deceased have been identified as Suhel Ahmad (40) of Ganganagar, Alwar district Rajasthan, his wife Gulshan (35), their son Rizwan (12), Gulshan’s elder sister Asma Ansari (38) of Shashtri Nagar, Delhi, Asma’s brother-in-law Jahagir Alam and another relative of the family Tahir Ansari of Ludhiana, Punjab. The deceased ambulance driver was identified as Hari Singh of Gumat Chandnagar, Jammu district.Two members of the family were also injured in the accident.Speaking to TOI, an injured Nassirudin said, "We were heading towards our native village in Bihar along with Asma’s husband Zahir Ansari's body. On Tuesday morning at around 7 am, our ambulance collided with another vehicle, killing six members of my family.
