Agra university fails to curb cheating

However, flying squads reported finding several non-functional cameras and recorders at exam centres. They also found students cheating.In February, all colleges affiliated to Agra university were directed to take anti-cheating measures. However, after the main exams for the session 2018-19 started on March 1, the university didn’t check if the facilities were set up. Besides, a centralized control room was planned to be set up for real-time monitoring of CCTV cameras and voice recorder data. So far, no such arrangements have been made.Agra university main exams are taking place at 400 centers of Agra, Firozabad, Mathura, Etah, Mainpuri, Kasganj, Hathras and Aligarh. Around half of the exams have been concluded. The remaining half will be over by April 23.According to sources, apart from finding CCTV cameras and voice recorders missing or non-functional, the flying squads also found same answers in copies of students. Due to no substantial proof of mass cheating, such cases are being ignored by the varsity administration.Agra University public relations officer GS Sharma said, “Exam centers have been directed to ensure audio and video recording of all the exams. Centers where required arrangements have not been made are being identified. Strict action will be taken against them. So far, no cases of mass cheating have surfaced.”
