Saffron outfit to guard Agra theatres to ensure Ram Ki Janmabhoomirsquos release

AGRA: A day after members of a particular community in Agra raised objections and protested against the release of the film ‘Ram Ki Janmabhoomi’, a right-wing group on Thursday declared that they would guard the city’s movie theatres to ensure a hassle-free screening.The film, ‘Ram Ki Janmabhoomi’, directed by Sanoj Mishra, purportedly revolves around the Ram Mandir issue. It is a violation of the model code of conduct.”Earlier, Vishwa Hindu Mahasangh, along with other saffron outfits, had objected to the release of ‘Padmavat’. The concept of ‘halala’ shown in the movie is wrong and we don’t support it.”Questioning the timing of the movie’s release, Sherwani added, “The election commission should not allow the movie to be released during the elections. It is scheduled to hit the screens across the country on Friday.Gopal Chahar, state secretary of Vishwa Hindu Mahasangh, said, “If anyone attempts to prevent the movie’s release, we will take every possible action to ensure its screening. Only a handful of notorious people from a section of a minority community who have vested interested have raised objection against the movie.

The movie highlights the ill practice of ‘halala’ which have destroyed lives of many minority women. People should know the truth.”On Wednesday, Vanchit Samaj Insaaf Party candidate Nawab Gul Chaman Sherwani, who is set to contest the 2019 Lok Sabha elections from Fatehpur Sikri , had handed over a memorandum to election commission officials, to postpone the movie’s release.Speaking to TOI, Sherwani said, “The movie hurts religious sentiments and is an attempt to incite communal passions. The concept of ‘halala’ shown in the movie is wrong and we don’t support it.”Questioning the timing of the movie’s release, Sherwani added, “The election commission should not allow the movie to be released during the elections. It is a violation of the model code of conduct.”Earlier, Vishwa Hindu Mahasangh, along with other saffron outfits, had objected to the release of ‘Padmavat’. This led to a delay in its release in the city.
