115-year-old woman casts her vote in Mathura

AGRA: A 115-year-old woman, Latto, and her five-year junior, Vidya Devi (110), were among the lakhs of voters who exercised their franchise in Mathura and Hathras respectively on Saturday. In Mathura, 40-year-old, Santosh Sharma, who was disabled in an accident two years ago, came to the polling station in an ambulance, along with his family. Latto was perhaps the oldest woman in the state to caste her vote during the first phase of polling.Talking to media, Latto, who was brought to the polling station at Islamiya Inter College, Mathura, on a cot by her neighbours, said, "It's the duty of every citizen to vote. She said she is aged around 115 years and she appealed to all voters to cast their vote.In Hathras 110-year-old Vidya Devi caste her vote in village Barse in Sasni tehsil. I never thought that I would live to see a day like this".

She said she is aged around 115 years and she appealed to all voters to cast their vote.In Hathras 110-year-old Vidya Devi caste her vote in village Barse in Sasni tehsil. She told media that she has been a regular voter and didn't want to miss her chance even this morning.Besides these two, thousands of senior citizens and many disabled people also exercised their franchise during the first phase of polling. In Mathura, 40-year-old, Santosh Sharma, who was disabled in an accident two years ago, came to the polling station in an ambulance, along with his family.
