AMU to provide free treatment to acid attack survivors

AGRA: Aligarh Muslim University has decided to provide free treatment to acid attack survivors at its J N Medical College . Now, acid attack survivors from Agra, Mathura and nearby districts will not be required to go to Delhi and Chennai for treatment. The certificate provided by the medical college will also be quite helpful in getting the compensation. The college will provide medicine, reconstructive surgery along with medical consultation free of cost. Not only this, the university will bear all expenses related to food and stay of patients.

AGRA: Aligarh Muslim University has decided to provide free treatment to acid attack survivors at its J N Medical College . Not only this, the university will bear all expenses related to food and stay of patients. Moreover it will also provide certificates to survivors stating that they are victims of acid attacks , which could be used by them to get compensation from the government.The university made this announcement after Chaav Foundation , an NGO which runs Sheroes hangout in Agra, wrote to the educational institution seeking its assistance in providing relief to acid attack survivors. Alok Dixit , founding director, Chaav Foundation, said, "We have made an appeal to the AMU administration giving reference of the Supreme Court's order in this regard. Now, acid attack survivors from Agra, Mathura and nearby districts will not be required to go to Delhi and Chennai for treatment. The certificate provided by the medical college will also be quite helpful in getting the compensation."College principal Tariq Mansoor said, "An office order has been issued. The college will provide medicine, reconstructive surgery along with medical consultation free of cost. The college will also bear the cost of food and lodging in the college premises."
