AGRA/FIROZABAD: Police seized 190 live Indian Tent turtles and Indian Roof turtles and arrested one person in connection with the incident on Monday.According to police, they were allegedly being smuggled to Rajasthan, Nepal and Haryana to be sold at higher prices. One person, identified as Keshav Prasad, has been arrested in this connection.According to police, the smuggler was caught during a routine checking drive on Station Road. During interrogation, the man allegedly told police that he had brought them from Lucknow and was supposed to send them to nearby states as well as to Nepal.Forest department officials were later informed about the incident.Police have registered a case against Keshav Prasad under sections 9 (hunting), 39 (possessing government property), 50 (failing to provide relevant documents for possessing animals), 51 (breaking rules of the Act) of the Wildlife (Protection) Act.
