Temperature Drops to 2 Degrees Celsius in Amritsar

The temperature has dropped the most in Amritsar, which is experiencing piercing cold during the day with the maximum temperature settling at 8.2 degrees Celsius.
The harsh cold wave has gripped several regions in North India including Punjab, Haryana, Delhi and other nearby regions.
In Punjab, the temperature dropped sharply on Wednesday, with Amritsar reeling at 2 degrees Celsius. The temperature has dropped the most in Amritsar, which is experiencing piercing cold during the day with the maximum temperature settling at 8.2 degrees Celsius.
The temperature in Amritsar is down by 13 notches against the normal, making the holy city even colder than Manali, Shimla and Srinagar, which recorded maximum temperatures of 10.4 degrees Celsius, 11.7 degrees Celsius and 10.4 degrees Celsius, according to the weather department.
Among other places in Punjab, Ludhiana recorded a low of 6.2 degrees Celsius, down one notch while the maximum temperature was recorded at 11.9 degrees Celsius, down roughly 10 degrees.
The IMD has said that the cold wave conditions are very likely to remain over some pockets like Punjab, Haryana, Rajasthan, Delhi and West Uttar Pradesh. The maximum and minimum temperatures in Punjab and Haryana dropped several notches below normal limits and their common capital Chandigarh.
