AMRITSAR: In a scathing critique of the ardas ceremony held at the Golden Temple, the Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) has slammed chief minister Bhagwant Mann for what they allege is his involvement in political event management at the sacred shrine.SAD leader Bikram Singh Majithia accused the chief minister of turning the stage at the Golden Temple into a political platform, contrasting it with former CM Capt Amarinder Singhs more reverential handling of the Gutka Sahib.Majithia criticized the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) for involving children in their political activities, stating that they were not only kept waiting in the heat for hours but were also made to wear yellow turbans to mimic the chief ministers turban color.Furthermore, he expressed his disappointment in Bhagwant Mann for not serving as a positive role model for children. Instead, he alleged that Mann was using them to advance his political agenda. Majithia pointed out that the chief minister had publicly pledged to quit alcohol but had failed to uphold that commitment, citing instances of his inebriation during official trips.Majithia raised questions about the chief ministers priorities, asking whether the drug problem was primarily in schools and villages. He accused Mann of diverting attention from his failure to address the drug menace through gimmickry rather than taking effective action against drug kingpins.Addressing the controversy surrounding a statement by a Punjab AAP Rajya Sabha MP regarding Haryanas water supply, Majithia criticized the chief minister for not holding Sandeep Pathak accountable. He suggested that the least Mann could do was secure Pathaks resignation from the Rajya Sabha and recommend his expulsion from the party. Instead, Majithia claimed, the Chief Minister was indirectly supporting AAPs Haryana units demand for the transfer of Punjabs water to Haryana.
