Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann reiterates beginning citizen-centric services at doorstep

AMRITSAR: Punjab chief minister Bhagwant Singh Mann announced that the people of the state will get delivery of more than 42 citizen-centric services at their doorsteps from the coming parkash purb (birth anniversary) of Sikhs first master Guru Nanak Dev. He was addressing a gathering in Amritsar on Friday.He informed that under the drive, 40-42 services would be available to the people at their doorstep without any hassle and inconvenience."This will be a big facility to the people as they will not have to run pillar to post for availing these services", added he.While announcing to develop the state as a hub of medical tourism by giving a major fillip to the medical education sector, Mann said that the state government was already making efforts in this regard. There is no dearth of funds for this purpose and the state government will leave no stone unturned for this noble cause, he claimed.To give a push to medical education in Punjab, he informed that the state government had decided to construct 16 new medical colleges in the coming five years that would enhance the total tally of medical colleges in the state to 25 thereby ensuring that every district of the state touches a medical college adding that one medical college would be dedicated to the people of the state on Saturday in Hoshiarpur.Mann on Friday also dedicated an OPD Block and OT Complex at the State Cancer Institute.
