Two of the men shot at Taur, and he died on the spot. However, before dying, Taur had managed to stab one of the suspected shooters. The injured man, identified as Bhagwat Dongre, is currently unconscious and battling for his life at the Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar. The other suspected shooter is on the run.Based on a complaint lodged by Dnyanoba Mangde, one of the five eyewitnesses accompanying Taur at the time of incident, the police registered an FIR on Monday against five accused on charges of murder, rioting, unlawful assembly and relevant sections of the Indian Arms Act and Maharashtra Police Act, 1951.Mangde also told the cops that a day before the incident, Dongre and one of the suspects, identified as Tiger, had gone to Taurs house. Accordingly, the police have acquired CCTV footage for analysis.Additional superintendent of police Ayush Nopany told TOI: Things will get clearer after the key accused regains consciousness. We are trying to nab an accused who goes by the name of Tiger. He too is a criminal on police record and is suspected of supplying illegal arms at different places. The officer said the probe has also revealed that Tiger, who hails from Nanded, has multiple cases registered against him there and is wanted in an attempted murder case in Ghansawangi registered last month.Due to various reasons, including a possible law and order situation, Taurs autopsy at the GMCH started late and it went on till 1.30am on Tuesday. The body was then taken to Jalna, where his last rites were performed in the presence of cops.Laxman Gore, one of the accused who had made a futile attempt to help all the attackers flee, was nabbed by the police after his car fell in a roadside pit. Gore and one Rohit Tathepamulwar were arrested officially on Tuesday. They will be produced before the court on Wednesday. The key accused in the case, after allegedly being stabbed by Taur, reached Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar and got himself admitted to the GMCH.Police, citing reports from medical authorities, said Dongre was stabbed by Taur twice, and his intestine was punctured. Police said they were checking who had helped Dongre flee to Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar.
