Aurangabad civic administration to seek general body approval for inquiry against officers

AURANGABAD: The municipal administration has once again placed the much-hyped proposal with regard to departmental inquiry against civic body 's suspended officers before the general body slated on February 18. The officers had allegedly set aside norms led down by the state government while issuing the TDRs. In the previous meeting the proposal was put on hold.Putting it on hold, the then mayor Trimbak Tupe had said that the proposal lacks many crucial inputs like legal implications of the inquiry on the civic body. They had allegedly violated norms while giving transfer of development rights (TDR) to some of the property owners in Fazalpura and Alamgir Colony. "Take legal opinion before placing the proposal in the general body," he had directed the municipal administration.It is important to note that most of the corporators - cutting across the party lines were not in favour of the departmental inquiry.

The municipal administration is looking ahead to conduct departmental inquiry against the suspended officers including - D P Kulkarni - assistant director of town planning and B S Naikwade - zoo in-charge and others.The civic body has suspended D P Kulkarni - assistant director of town planning and his four subordinates allegedly involved in the Fazalpura TDR scam. They had allegedly violated norms while giving transfer of development rights (TDR) to some of the property owners in Fazalpura and Alamgir Colony. The officers had allegedly set aside norms led down by the state government while issuing the TDRs.
