BAREILLY: A day after Congress president Rahul Gandhi was quoted as saying that Prime Minister Narendra Modi won’t be able to face his queries in the Lok Sabha, Uttar Pradesh deputy chief minister Keshav Maurya on Wednesday said if Rahul is made to work even half as much as Modi, he will not only forget Amethi and Rai Bareli, but also how to run Congress.Maurya who was in Bareilly on Wednesday said, “If Rahul is made to work even half as much as Modi, he will have to work very hard. Rahul may have become president of the Congress, but he cannot become an alternative to Modi.”Talking about the Lok Sabha elections, deputy CM said even if the Samajwadi Party, Bahujan Samaj Party and Congress enter into an alliance, BJP will win more than 73 seats in UP. “After losing two seats in the recent bypolls at Phoolpur and Gorakhpur, we have started preparations to convert our defeat into victory. We have people’s support,” he said.Maurya also inaugurated and laid the foundation stones of 51 projects worth Rs 176 crore for the district. He announced that on the demand of residents, the existing Choupla bridge would be upgraded with a budget of Rs 78 crore.
