BAREILLY: In a shocking incident, a dog owner allegedly killed his neighbour after the latter’s son hit his dog with a stick on Wednesday night. The incident was reported from Sendha village under Bhamora police station. According to officials, Vipin Kumar, 45, was upset with his neighbour Brijpal’s dog barking at his buffalos in the middle of the night. So he came out of his house with his 10-year-old son, Sumit, who had a stick in his hand and whipped the canine. Moments later, Brijpal arrived at their residence with an axe and hit Kumar twice on his head.The injured man was rushed to hospital, where he was declared brought dead. Police have registered an FIR into the matter and Brijpal is on the run. Bhamora police station SHO Vijay Pratap Singh said, “Following a complaint filed by Sumit, an FIR has been lodged against the accused under sections 302 (murder) and 323 (voluntarily causing hurt) of the IPC. We are conducting raids to nab the accused.”According to police, Kumar, 45, was a labourer and worked in Haryana. He was the lone breadwinner of the family. A fortnight ago, he had come to Bareilly to fix his elder daughter’s marriage.On Wednesday night around 9, Brijpal’s dog started barking at Kumar’s buffalos. Kumar’s 10-year-old son Sumit took a stick and whipped the dog after which a quarrel broke out between the two neighbours.“In a fit of rage, Brijpal hit Kumar with an axe twice and even injured his elder son. The victim died of head injury,” SHO added.
