Bareilly: Police have recovered body of an unidentified 20-year-old woman from Manu Nagar trisection under Faizganj Baheta police station of Badaun area on Tuesday. Police said they will be able to determine the cause of death only after post-mortem result is declared.Police said the woman was strangulated to death and later dumped near a brick kiln at the trisection. She was dressed in a blue kurta and pink pyajama. A white coloured scarf was draped around her neck.Locals informed the police after they spotted the body near the area.OP Gautam, station house officer of Faizganj Baheta police station, said, “The woman has a minor injury on her hand. We did not see any other injury marks on her body. She could not be identified despite inquiring residents of adjoining villages, passers-by and workers of the nearby brick kilns. It seems that she was strangulated to death and her body was later dumped on the roadside here. It appears that she belongs to a poor family.’’“We are waiting for the post-mortem report to confirm whether she was raped or not. We have not yet lodged an FIR as we are awaiting the report. We are trying to trace her family. Following the post-mortem, we will wait for 72 hours and if her family is not found, the body will be cremated,’’ the officer added .
