BAREILLY: Chief minister Yogi Adityanath on Monday granted Rs 70 crore to develop infrastructure for Sambhal district headquarters at Bahjoi, and stated that the district would be highlighted on the tourism map of Uttar Pradesh.After arriving in Sambhal, the chief minister held a review meeting with local MLAs and administrative officials.Yogi, who was on his maiden visit to Sambhal, said, “The district has tremendous potential to emerge on the tourism map of the state as well as the country.”“We are focusing and working to develop the district as a tourist place. The district has many historic places which have religious significance as well,” he said.Interacting with reporters, the chief minister recounted his government’s achievements in the past one year. He also compared the existing law and order situation and developmental works carried out by the BJP government in the state with the previous SP regime.Yogi also visited a primary school in Madara village, where he planted saplings and distributed schoolbags among children. He also handed over keys and certificates of houses to over a dozen women beneficiaries under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojna at a function held on the school campus. Later, he visited the Madara community health centre.Earlier, after his chopper landed in a field here at 9am, Yogi was received by state minister Gulab Devi, MP Satyapal Saini, MLA Baldev Singh Aulakh and district magistrate Anand Kumar Singh.
