One additional tractor is soon to be gifted to PTR by WWF,” Kumar said. The inaugural monsoon patrolling was conducted from Chuka barrier in Mahof forest range up to the border of Surai forest range in East Terai forest division. This will prevent wildlife criminals from penetrating in sensitive forest regions. The joint team comprises 35 forest personnel, including the rangers, foresters and forest guards of both sides, apart from Kumar and Tripathi. Many villagers were found inside the forest area during patrolling and they were made to leave. Joint field patrolling will be conducted especially in those forest areas of both regions where access is difficult due to waterlogging.“At present we have three tractors — one each in Mala, Barahi and Haripur ranges — which will be used for patrolling during monsoon.
