Pilibhit: Following the orders of inspector general of police, Bareilly zone, Prem Prakash, Pilibhit Kotwali police have lodged an FIR against four persons, including the husband and two sons of a Quran teacher, in connection with a case of sexual harassment of a nine-year-old student.In her complaint, the minor’s mother had said she used to send her daughter to a private religious coaching centre in Pakadia locality in Pilibhit city for Quran lessons. There, she was allegedly sexually harassed by the teacher’s husband, identified as Chand Babu.About a fortnight ago, she noticed that her daughter seemed listless and started to say no to attending her Quran classes. It took her a while to make her daughter explain the reason for her reluctance to attend her lessons. It was then that she came to know that her daughter was being sexually harassed by her teacher’s husband, Chand Babu.The woman said while teacher Shamim Mullani was busy preparing lunch, Chand Babu would take her daughter to another room and sexually harass her. He would threaten to kill her if she dared to reveal the truth to anyone. The child was too terrorized to speak about her ordeal, alleged the complainant.When the woman approached her daughter’s teacher to complain, she was allegedly thrashed and abused by Chand Babu and his sons, Merab and Ilu. The trio also threatened her with dire consequences if she went to police, the complainant said.On filing a complaint with Kotwali police station, the complainant’s husband was implicated in a case of breach of peace by the police.The complainant said she had to approach the IG at Bareilly after she was denied justice for her daughter even by Pilibhit superintendent of police, Balendu Bhushan Singh.After the IG’s prodding, an FIR was lodged at Pilibhit Kotwali police station against Chand Babu, his sons and one Haidar. All are residents of Pakadia locality. Station house officer KP Singh said an FIR was lodged under IPC section 354 (sexual harassment), 504 (intentional insult with intent to provoke breach of the peace), 506 (criminal intimidation) and provisions of the POCSO Act. However, no one has so far been arrested.The complainant had alleged that Haidar had been putting pressure on her to drop the case and reach a compromise.
