Police have arrested 22 protesters.Speaking with TOI, Tripathi said, “On Tuesday morning, the Nagloie village residents blocked the Rampur- Chandusi High way and demanded compensation after for the kin of a man who was hit by bus. Rampur: Protesters demanding compensation from Rampur administrate authorities for kin of the person who died in a road accident turned violent on Tuesday as they pelted stones at police and the administrative officials in Shahbad area.Around 17 police personnel, including sub-divisional magistrate of Shahbad Ghanshyam tripathi, got injured and are undergoing treatment at a hospital. We were assuring them that they will get compensation, but they were not listening and soon the villagers started pelting stones at us.”“The situation had gone out of control and extra force was called in to keep them under control,” he added.Tripathi said a complaint has been filed with the police and “FIR under the relevant IPC sections will be registered against the assailants in the evening.”
