I am going to take stock of the fever affected areas in my constituency.”Thus far, 38 deaths due to various fevers have been reported from across the district.Singh said, “Due to heavy rainfall, as many as 40 districts are affected by flood. Twenty-six districts are worst hit, while in 14 other districts, several villages are inundated. Bareilly is among the 14 districts, while a large part of my constituency has low-lying areas adjacent to Ramganga river. This makes Anola more vulnerable to attack by vector-borne diseases. The situation was grave, but it’s under control, now.”The minister said the chief minister visited several flood-hit areas. “Besides, we along with district magistrates of the 40 districts had in May made plans in advance to deal with floods so that there were no casualties.”“Last year, only Rs 80 crore was released for the flood-hit areas, but we have released Rs 384 crore this year so far. Besides, all DMs have been instructed to conduct surveys to assess crop damage for providing compensation to the farmers swiftly,” he said.
