To mark the ten-day festival of Ganesh Chaturthi or Ganeshotsav, Bareillywallahs are thronging pandals set up across the the city. Some of the most-frequented pandals are the ones at Ayub Khan Chauraha, Chowki Chauraha, Alamgiriganj, Subhash Nagar, Rajendra Nagar and Cantonment. Several dance competitions, plays, matki phod, shobha yatra and other activities are in full swing and the celebrations will go on till the visarjan. Bareillywallahas are enjoying every moment as they are engaging in several cultural activities while hopping from one pandal to another. Mridula Sachdeva, a homemaker from Janakpuri , says, “Pandal-hopping has become our favourite activity. It’s so much fun to visit different pandals, catch a glimpse of some beautiful performances and enjoy the company of our family and friends.” Pratiksha, a student from Rohilkhand University, says, “It is fun dancing to the foot-tapping music of the DJs, who have been playing at these pandals.”AlamgiriganjBara Bazaar
