Truck mows down four in Pilibhit

Referring to what was explained to him by the eye witnesses of the incident, Amit said that the truck first hit one of the two bikes. The truck driver fled from the spot after the accident. The police have lodged an FIR in the matter and have sent the bodies for autopsy.As per the written complaint filed by Amit Kumar, a resident of village Sisaiya, the four deceased belonged to one family. Pilibhit: Four villagers were mowed down by a truck on Pilibhit-Basti national highway near Khamria turn on Saturday evening.The incident happened when the victims, who were on two bikes, were coming to their native village Sisaiya under Gajraula police station.The victims were shifted to community health centre at Puranpur where three of them were declared as brought dead while the 4th victim took his last breath at district government hospital in Pilibhit. His younger brother Prem Pal (25) had gone to village Balrampur and Simariya under Puranpur Kotwali police station on Saturday morning to meet some relatives along with his cousins Sanjeev (24), Ram Niwas (27) and Roop Lal (35).The diseased Prem Pal and Sanjeev were riding the bike while other two were riding pillion.

Following this, the two bikes collided with each other and in seconds, the four bikers came down the rear wheels of the running truck after losing their control on their bikes.The station house officer of Puranpur Kotwali police station, Keshav Tiwari said that an FIR has been lodged against an unidentified driver of an anonymous truck under sections 279 (driving vehicle on any public way in a manner so rash or negligent as to endanger human life), 338 (causing grievous hurt by act endangering life or personal safety of others), 304 A (causing death by negligence) and 427 (committing mischief and thereby causing loss or damage to the amount of fifty rupees or upwards) of the IPC.
