Financial power of Amaria BDC chairman seized

Pilibhit: District magistrate Akhilesh Kumar Mishra on Wednesday seized the financial power of Amaria block development committee (BDC) chairman Shyam Singh for allegedly not signing official cheques, which was hampering the on-going developmental works in the block.DM has delegated the financial power to Amaria sub-divisional magistrate Rakesh Kumar “till further order”.DM said, “Deliberate negligence by Singh was creating hindrance in carrying out developmental projects.”According to block development officer AK Gnagwar, the stubborn attitude of the chairman has also blocked the transfer of Rs 6,81,274 earned as interest on money deposited by the government in the bank account of BDC for various schemes to the district treasury account.In addition, the chairman has also held up the payments of construction material of various projects due to which the development in the block area has almost been seized.“The action against the chairman was taken after he failed to provide satisfactory reply in response to a notice served to him,” said DM.
