Thousands join Islamic cleric in burning Pak’s effigy

The effigies of Pakistan were also burnt by the leaders and workers of Hindu Yuva Vahini, Hindu Mahasabha, Hindu Jagran Manch and many other outfits in separate protest events. Pilibhit: Shocked, angered and disgusted by the Pulwama terror attacks which claimed lives of 42 brave jawans, Maulana Jartab Raza Khan, a revered cleric of Pilibhit district, burnt Pakistan’s effigy along with atleast thousand followers on Friday in the district.Khan urged the PM to put an immediate ban on orgainsations which propagate pro-Pakistan notions saying, “It is my humble demand from the prime minister to enforce first action of identifying and imposing complete ban on all organizations indulged in propagating pro Pakistan notions in our country. The people associated with such organizations should be declared as traitors and must be punished.”Asking the PM to avenge the attacks, he said, “India should stop all talks with Pakistan.” He further said that it is imperative to resolve the situation in Kashmir as until we safeguard our country from within the borders, we won’t be able give a befitting reply to Pakistan.Thousands paid tribute to martyrs and a two-minute silence in memory of the martyrs was observed at every government office in the district.
