Bareilly: Days after the newly-constructed building of the Bareilly airport inaugurated, the Indian Air Force (IAF) authorities shot off a letter to the Airport Authority of India (AAI), making it clear that the boundary wall erected on the taxiway, which will connect IAF’s Trishul airbase’s runway to the commercial airport, wouldn’t be demolished until AAI increased the height of a roller gate to be installed there. If the operation of commercial flights is delayed, said IAF, it should be attributed to AAI for its failure to abide by the defence ministry’s the instructions.AAI officials, however, said they had erected the gate following the AAI’s guidelines. As AAI expressed its apprehension that the required change in the gate’s height would delay the commencement of operation, the IAF letter stated, “Your office should have been aware of the ministry of defence’s letter. Hence, the envisaged delay, if it happens, needs to be attributed to the AAI office.AAI joint general manager Rajeev Kulshreshtha told TOI, “Since there has been some difference between the ground level of the IAF airbase and AAI airport, the gate’s height fell short.
