Unable to return money, man ends life

Phool Singh, a resident of Gora Loknathpur village under Meerganj police station, had borrowed money from his neighbour two months ago.Singh wanted to buy a second hand auto-rickshaw and was unable to return the amount. His body has been sent for post-mortem.Meerganj police station house officer (SHO), Rajveer Singh, said, “Singh was working as a labourer. Before borrowing the money, he promised Kumar of returning the amount in a month.”“At 11:45 pm on Thursday, Singh’s wife Jyoti along with eight-year-old son went to maternal house.

Phool Singh, a resident of Gora Loknathpur village under Meerganj police station, had borrowed money from his neighbour two months ago.Singh wanted to buy a second hand auto-rickshaw and was unable to return the amount. He then took the extreme step. Singh was admitted to a private hospital where he died on Friday. His body has been sent for post-mortem.Meerganj police station house officer (SHO), Rajveer Singh, said, “Singh was working as a labourer. He later decided to purchase a new auto-rickshaw for a living. Two months ago, he borrowed Rs 70,000 from his neighbour Shankar Kumar for a second hand auto-rickshaw. Before borrowing the money, he promised Kumar of returning the amount in a month.”“At 11:45 pm on Thursday, Singh’s wife Jyoti along with eight-year-old son went to maternal house. Singh was alone and consumed insecticides. His wife found his body the next morning. She immediately informed the police. This is a case of suicide,” Singh added.
